My name is Kirkland.Dirk Kirkland.Following an SNL skit with Rob Schneider back in the early 90s, I was also known as “The Dirkster”.If you remember that, then you’ve probably lived in Southern Colorado for a while and you may remember my days at the other rock station across town.
So, I guess this is the part where I’m supposed to tell you about things I like.Well, I’ve lived in Colorado for a while so, naturally, I like the mountains.I grew up in L.A., so I really like the water.I like dogs.I like my friends, good food, and good drink.I also like sneaking into Gina’s office just before she gets off the air to let a “big one” go.I also really like the fact that no one in the office has figured out that the prints on the photocopier perfectly match my butt.
The one thing I’ll always remember about working in rock radio is the passion that Colorado rockers have for the music.Many rock bands claim that Colorado is a favorite place to play, and I believe our appetite for great rock n roll is a big reason why.
